A Dedicated Man
Raef Guirges was able to run 26.2 miles in Anchorage,
Alaska. When Raef Guirges woke up on the morning of the
marathon, he had a cold. Despite his cold, and despite
the fact that there was a thunderstorm he was still able
to accomplish 26.2 miles of ground! He went out and
while warming up for his event, he noticed that everyone
around him was covering themselves up with plastic bags
to shield them from the rain and freezing cold weather.
It was hard, but Raef Guirges resisted the temptation!
When feeling almost discouraged, Raef Guirges remembered
what he was running for. He remembered that he was
running to show everyone that "God Is Love". He wore his
God Is Love T-Shirt, and would not cover it up, not even
to protect himself. He didn't care about the
consequences, he didn't care if he got pneumonia. Raef
Guirges, was running for God, and he had faith that God
would get him through the event! Raef Guirges is our
marathon role model! We should always remember what Raef
Guirges was able to remember. That as long as we have
faith in God, then we have love in God, and as long as
we have love in God, we will always set our intentions
to be right and good and to Glorify His Holy Name, and
when we set out to do that, God will give us all the
strength and power to accomplish our goals. So remember,
GOD IS LOVE!
